GREEN AQUACULTURE TRANSFORMATION AT THE INTERNATIONAL AQUACULTURE VIETNAM CONFERENCE
During Vietstock 2024 and Aquaculture Vietnam 2024, taking place from October 9-11, 2024, the International Aquaculture Conference 2024 will delve into critical issues of sustainable aquaculture, featuring insights from industry experts and businesses in Vietnam and across the region.
Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions – A Path to Green Economic Growth
The aquaculture industry significantly contributes to Vietnam’s seafood production, providing nutritious food and supporting millions of livelihoods. However, the industry faces significant challenges due to climate change and environmental degradation.
The traditional aquaculture model, while economically profitable, is increasingly unsustainable. Its high resource consumption and significant emissions contribute to global warming and ecosystem degradation, posing a threat to the long-term development of the industry. These factors lead to lower productivity, reduced product quality, and a heightened risk of disease outbreaks and resource scarcity.
To tackle these pressing challenges and secure the sustainable growth of the aquaculture sector, it has become a top priority to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Addressing the root causes of these issues will enable the industry to protect its future.
The International Aquaculture Vietnam Conference, held as part of the Vietstock and Aquaculture Vietnam, is a vital platform for experts and businesses to collaborate and find solutions to the most pressing aquacultural issues.
Recognising the industry’s current state, the 6th edition of the International Aquaculture Vietnam Conference will present the theme “Greenhouse Emission Reduction and Development of Green Economy in Aquaculture.”
With support from the Vietnam Fisheries Society (VINAFIS) and the International Collaborating Centre for Aquaculture and Fisheries Sustainability (ICAFIS), attendees will have access to in-depth content and optimal solutions to improve aquaculture models and production while protecting aquatic ecosystems.
Solutions for Aquaculture Industry
The International Aquaculture Vietnam Conference will be a two-day event packed with five sessions, each addressing a critical aspect of sustainability in the aquaculture industry.
The conference will be held as part of Vietstock 2024 and Aquaculture Vietnam 2024, at the Conference Room, 2nd floor, Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).
The first day of the conference (October 9th) will delve into the rich tapestry of “Aquaculture Species diversity”.
The second day of the conference (October 10th) will focus on the technological advancements and strategic approaches to develop aquaculture industry sustainability. Starting at 8:30 AM, the sessions will take place sequentially as follows:
- “Technologies towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions and using renewable energy (RAS, Aquaponic, Solar Energy…)”;
- “Circular economy to reduce costs and increase values for the aquaculture industry”;
- “Multi-product strategies, international certification requirements”;
- “Aquaculture production and trading through the value chain”.
