CELEBRATING THE 65TH ANNIVERSARY OF VIETNAM’S FISHERIES INDUSTRY TRADITION DAY
Fisheries is a key economic sector, playing an important role in stabilizing and socio-economic development of Vietnam. Total annual seafood output reaches over 9 million tons, export turnover reaches over 9 billion USD, and by 2022 it will reach 11 billion USD; 1. Vietnamese seafood products have been exported to 170 countries and regions up to now.
Fishing activities provide employment opportunities for approximately 1 million direct workers at sea and 4 million indirect workers on coastal and island regions, playing a significant role in safeguarding security and sovereignty.
The mechanisms and regulations of the fisheries sector have been finalized. The Prime Minister has officially released the Vietnam’s seafood development strategy to 2030, vision to 2045. This strategy encompasses 11 programs and action plans.
Celebrating the 65th anniversary of Vietnam’s Fisheries Industry Tradition Day (April 1, 1959 – April 1, 2024), the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam has launched many programs and activities to promote the fisheries industry. The goal is to successfully complete the Strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam’s marine economy until 2030, vision to 2045.
Vietnam’s International Aquaculture Industry Exhibition – Aquaculture Vietnam will be an event that brings the most advanced technology and products in the field of aquaculture and seafood processing. Aquaculture Vietnam will take place concurrently with the Vietstock 2024 at SECC, HCMC from October 9 – 11, 2024.
